21 days went by, just like that. This is my second solo trip. First one was Santa Fe, New Mexico. Since, until now, I have always traveled in company of one or more, it was a big inertia to go to Santa Fe. I enjoyed the experience but felt lonely from time to time. But Buenos Aires has been different. Very rarely during the 21 days I felt lonely or alone. There were way too many new things to learn, new people to meet, a new country with its unique culture, tradition, and social norms to learn and absorb kept me intellectually and emotionally occupied. So didn’t have much time to feel lonely. May be I’m starting to master the art of traveling solo. With the exception of food, I have enjoyed every aspect of this country. People are wonderfully warm, open and friendly. Always very curious about Los Angeles. Kobe’s unfortunate passing, created many opportunities for people to share their sorrow. And connect with each other in an emotional level. That was very touching. As recently as this morning, Barbara, one of my favorite front desk manger mentioned to me the names Kobe and Calabasas in the same sentence as I was discussing today is my last day. The weather has been extremely comfortable. Especially the early mornings. Walking to the coffee shop has been my best part of the day. Ever so slightly cool mornings with ever so slight breeze. Just heavenly.

Had a business trip to Buenos Aires and wanted to explore Patagonia region. Contacted Evaneos and your local agent Shandra did a magnificent job in designing the adventure. All accommodations, transfers, and details were perfect. Shandra was very attentive and detail oriented.

Picked up at San Juan bus station for a 3 hour ride to Barreal in two vehicles the first day. Group Meeting. Nice hotel with a great view and a pool. Two rooms, 5 girls in one with two bedrooms. Two beds in one, three in the other. Very comfortable. Boys in other room. Day 2 stunning thrilling 3 hour drive to start of ride. Mounted up for a three hour ride to first campsite. Every day started about 9 am riding 6-9 hours a day. Potty stops in morning and afternoon and a lunch stop. Scenery was mesmerizing every day. Set up camp and tents, then a 'snack' then dinner after 9pm. In January light until after 9pm. Gauchos got your horses saddled, and unsaddled at end of day. Plan for WIND! Most stunning thrilling exciting week ever!
