A trip to Norway is like entering the home of Mother Nature herself. Sea and mountain have joined forces to form sublime landscapes:Natural Parks, lakes, glaciers, forests, and stunning fjords. Norway is a country whose scenery changes with the seasons:in summer, prepare for days that go on forever, and a glowing sun that shines even at midnight… In winter, Nature puts on its white jacket and the snow sports begin. It’s also the season during which the Northern Lights are at their most spectacular. Frankly, this ethereal phenomenon alone is worth making the trip! Conveniently, Norway is also&nbsp;an ideal destination for a family trip: what child wouldn’t want to take a visit to the homeland of Father Christmas?

From the moment I arrived in Lofoten by boat I was amazed. At first sight there are the summits which plunge into the transparent water. Then, after walking a bit, I discovered the jagged coastlines and sandy bays. I wandered around without any plans and discovered pretty fishing villages. I have never seen so many cod fish drying! Every time I turned a corner there was another shelter and dryer. What I noticed most in Lofoten was nature. It's so tranquil that you feel completely cut off from the world. The atmosphere encourages you to admire the wonderful setting of these marvellous islands that I really recommend you explore during <a href="/norway/">a trip to Norway.</a>

I've had Lofoten on my travel bucket list for quite a while, having seen photographs on the internet and been blown away by its beauty. Finally, I decided to organise a trip last December and it was one of the best - if very cold - experiences I've ever had! Because I didn't really know where exactly it was or how to get there, I went with a group with whom I got a good overall look at the place. We took a boat trip to see the whales and the beautiful starry sky. On the last evening the sky was pretty cloudy, but we still got to see the Aurora Borealis. The trip cost me quite a lot of money, but it was really worth it. I don't particularly remember the food, but believe me, when you're cold, any kind of hot food is very much appreciated! If I could, I'd happily take this <a href="/norway/">trip to Norway</a> every winter.

Lofoten is on my list of the most spectacular places I've seen during my travels.

Once you’ve explored everything that Norway’s capital has to offer, visit the western fjords and enjoy open spaces and beautiful scenery as you’ve never seen it before or enjoy the views over the Norwegian countryside from the train window, as you ride the Setesdalsbanen railway.
