Lebanon boasts six ski stations and the ski season lasts from December to May. From May onwards, you'll be able to enjoy the beaches, swimming or trying waterskiing, windsurfing or sailing. Don't forget to visit the beaches in the South, the most beautiful in the country.
The best time of year for a hiking trip in Lebanon is Autumn: summer's heat has faded and the countryside is sublime. You could also travel in Spring to discover the countryside, filled with olive groves and vineyards, to follow the famous literary trail of Baskinta or to explore the Chouf reserve.
Head off on a voyage of discovery through Lebanon's mountainous regions such as Bcharré, looking out for the cedars, the trees which symbolise the country. You'll also see pine trees and many fruit trees, and you might spot eagles, buzzards, warblers and owls. And don't forget the green tortoises and the monk seals in the Palm Islands Park. It's best to travel in Spring or Autumn.
Lebanon's historic heritage is vast. Discover Tripoli or Byblos, without of course forgetting Beirut, the capital. The different civilisations which succeeded one another in Lebanon from the time of the Phoenicians on left behind many ruins, such as Anjar, the sites of the Holy Valley, Baalbek and more – all classified by UNESCO. Choose to travel in Spring or Autumn.
Lebanon is famous for its wine. Head off to discover the most important cellars in the country: Ksara, Castle Musar and Kefraya. You'll enjoy visiting other younger estates too. If possible, travel in Autumn or Spring.
